EXPOSING THE BLUFF
My last post was about the economics of major league sports. Now, six days later, MLB.com is reporting that the Florida Marlins are considering San Antonio for their new home.
On the bizjournals.com table of economic areas, San Antonio scored a 19 for baseball. So did cities like Springfield, IL, Boise, Charleston, WV, Corpus Christi, Memphis, McAllen, TX, Mobile, and Pensacola. San Antonio indeed.

Perhaps the Marlins and N.O. Saints could sell themselves to San Antonio based on "Cincinnati" professional sports model. Two minor league sports franchises with major league T.V. deals. They could play in a new Alamo Sportsdome. That would be ironic in a "get your butt whipped" sort of way. I bet they sell out every game.
